ગ્રામ પંચાયત મંત્રી સરકારના પંચાયત વિભાગના કર્મચારી હોવાથી તેમણે રાજ્ય સરકારના પંચાયત વિભાગને લગતી તમામ કામગીરી કરવાની હોય છે. પંચાયત યોજનાઓને લગતી તમામ કામગીરી અને પંચાયત વિભાગ દ્વારા સોંપાયેલ તમામ કામગીરી ગ્રામ પંચાયત મંત્રી દ્વારા કરવાની હોય છે. પંચાયત પસંદગી બોર્ડ દ્વારા જિલ્લાવાર ગ્રામ પંચાયત મંત્રીની ભરતી કરવામાં આવે છે.

અત્યાર સુધી તલાટીની પરીક્ષા 12 પાસ પર લેવામાં આવતી હતી

• (1) સુપિરિયર પંચાયત સેવા ભરતી (સુધારા) નિયમો, 2023 માં, આ નિયમો ગ્રામ પંચાયત સચિવ, વર્ગ II દ્વારા સુધારવામાં આવશે. કહી શકાય.
