(a) a bachelor's degree in Arts or Science or Commerce and a degree in education obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India; or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; and

(b) (i) a bachelor's degree in education obtained from any of the Teacher Educational Institutions recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE); or (ii) two years certificate course of Primary Teachers Certificate or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) of the State Examination Board of Gujarat obtained from any of the Teacher Educational Institutions recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) ); or (iii) a four years bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or four years bachelor's degree in education obtained from NCTE recognized Teacher Education Institutions, and

(C) have passed the Assistant Education Inspector Apptitude Test (AEIAT) as may be prescribed by the Government; and
