Good news / wow! Corona vaccine will also be available for children up to 5 years? The big news came

U.S. regulators have asked drug manufacturers Pfizer and Bioentech to apply for emergency use of two doses of their Covid-19 vaccine for children aged six months to five years.

Children up to 5 years of age will also get covid vaccine.

Application for approval made by Pfizer and Bioentech.

If approved, it will be the first vaccine for children.

While the three-dose vaccine figures are awaited, the move is aimed at clearing the way for them as soon as possible by the end of February.

According to the news agency ANI, Pfizer and BioNtech issued a statement on Tuesday stating that \"following the insistence of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), companies have applied for emergency use of vaccines developed by Pfizer and BioNTech for children from 6 months to 5 years.

If approved, it would be the first vaccine in the world to be given to children up to the age of five.

Approval sought for emergency use

Albert Burla, chairman and CEO of Pfizer, said: \"As children under the age of five continue to be hospitalized, our goal is to prepare for future Corona variants and provide parents with options to help protect children from Corona virus."

Statement provided by Pfizer and BioNTech

Pfizer and BioNTech have stated that they expect the submission process to be completed in a few days.

Pfizer's preliminary data show that the vaccine - given to young children at one-tenth the rate of adults - is safe and produces an immune response.

However, last year Pfizer announced that the two-dose vaccine had been shown to be less effective in preventing Covid-19 in children between the ages of two and five, and regulators encouraged the company to add a third dose to the study.
