The education department is confused about the exam

As Corona's case escalates, all academic work at the school college has been shut down offline until April 30. The standard 10 and 12 exams are to be held in the month of May but the cases are increasing day by day so that the education department is also confused about the exams. In view of the increasing number of cases, a meeting of the Minister of Education, Department of Health and Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary will be held for the examination and a decision on the examination will be taken at this meeting.



The exam is now only a month away

Millions of students are scheduled to appear for the standard 10 and 12 examinations. With less than a month to go before the exams, the cases are also on the rise and all the issues like how to take exams for millions of students, how to arrange them, how to give exams to students who are positive for corona will be discussed. There will be coordination between the health department and the education department. After which it will be decided to take the exam in the second week of June or later. In Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh too, it has been decided to postpone 10th and 12th standard examinations and take them in June.

All Gujarat Guardian President Naresh Shah has written a letter to Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. The letter said all government programs have been shut down in view of the current situation. In the present situation, it is not possible to take the school examination in the month of May, so that the students of 1st to 9th standard are given mass promotion and the examination of 10th and 12th standard is taken in the month of June and not in the month of May. The new year will also start from June and 240 days of study will not be available as per the academic calendar, so it has been demanded to announce mass promotions immediately.


Std. 10 and 12 examinations will start from May 10

Gujarat Board has announced the schedule of Std. 10 and Std. 12 examinations. The standard 10 and 12 examinations are starting from May 10. The exams will run till May 25. The standard 12 examination will be from 3 pm to 6.30 pm, while the standard 10 examination will be from 10 am to 3:15 pm.


30 percent reduction in curriculum

Earlier, a 30 per cent cut in the curriculum was made in the interest of students due to the Corona epidemic, following which students are now focusing on 70 per cent in the curriculum. Objective questions in Std-9 and Std-11 and Std-12 general stream question papers with Std-9 to 10 are 30% instead of 20%. In the academic year 2020-21, the curriculum for Std-9 to 12 has been reduced by 30%. While in Std-9,10,11 and 12 general stream the proportion of objective questions in question papers has been increased from 20% to 30%. The question paper of Std-12 Science stream has 50% multiple choice questions and 50% descriptive questions. In the question paper of standard 9 to 12, in the descriptive questions, general option is given instead of internal option.

50% MCQ in standard-12 science question papers unchanged

While in Std-12 Science, the proportion of 50 per cent MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) and 50 per cent descriptive type questions in the question papers has been maintained as before. In Std-9 to Std-12 question papers in descriptive type questions will be given general option instead of internal option. Pursuant to this change, the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has prepared question papers of 40 main subjects of Std-10 and 12 in the form, merit and sample question papers which have been sent to all the Secondary-Higher Secondary Schools through all the District Education Officers.
