Established in the year 2011, Swarnim Gujarat Sports University (SGSU) is a state-owned public university. SGSU aims at promoting sports activities among students by offering them a platform to stand at the state as well as national level. SGSU offers various programmes at UG, PG and Doctoral level. Furthermore, the University also offers four short-duration and eight long-duration certificate courses. These programmes are in the field of Sports Management, Sports Event Management, Sports Tourism, Sports Law, Sports Journalism, Sports Massage, Sports Nutrition, and Sports Physiotherapy.

SGSU Gandhinagar Admission Process 2020: Fast Facts

Swarnim Gujarat Sports University admissions are conducted online through its official admission system. Registration for admission to SGSU commences in April and lasts up to May every year. Here are a few important points regarding admission:

• Selection to B.P.Ed programme is based on the marks scored in the entrance exam conducted by the University. The entrance exam consists of a written test, proficiency test, and physical fitness test. Marks obtained in Class 12 is also taken into consideration
• For all other UG programmes, candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained in Class 12
• Candidates, for PG Diploma programme are selected on the basis of marks scored in graduation
• Selection to M.P.Ed programme is based on the on merit in the entrance test which consists of written test, sports proficiency test, and marks obtained in the qualifying examination or any other selection process as per the policy of university with due weight on physical fitness test
• Admission to rest of the PG programmes (MSc, MA and M.P.Ed.S) is done on the basis of marks obtained in graduation
• For Integrated MPhil and PhD programme, candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored the entrance test conducted by the University. However, candidates, who have qualified UGC NET/ UGC CSIR NET exempted from the entrance test
