Gujarat Election Result 2024 Live: Gujarat braces for the declaration of results in the Lok Sabha elections. The counting of votes is scheduled to commence at 8 AM across 25 constituencies in the state, with the electoral outcome poised to significantly impact the political landscape.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, stands at the forefront of this electoral battle.
Having secured all 26 Lok Sabha seats in both the 2014 and 2019 general elections, the BJP aims to maintain its stronghold and secure another resounding victory in Gujarat.
Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 Live: With a few hours to go for the counting of votes to start, all eyes are on whether the exit poll predictions will hold ground — the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government coming back to power with thumping majority. While the Opposition’s INDIA bloc has rubbished the exit polls, the BJP is confident of easily crossing the majority-mark, even planning out how they want to celebrate the landmark victory.
Election Results 2024 Live: What’s happening in the key battleground states?
Bihar, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Haryana — these are the states where the Opposition’s INDIA bloc will hope to make a mark to halt the BJP’s march towards a thumping victory again. Of these, two states — Haryana and Maharashtra — go to Assembly polls later this year. A third state, Bihar, will hold Assembly polls late next year.
However, these are again states where the NDA won, and won big. In Bihar, the NDA had won 39 of 40 seats last time. In UP, the NDA had won 64 seats, leaving 10 to the BSP, five to the SP (when the two had fought in an alliance) and one to the Congress. This time, the SP and the Congress are fighting elections together in UP.
In Delhi, with the AAP and the Congress fighting separately, the BJP had won all seven seats in 2019. This time, the AAP and the Congress are together, both in Delhi and Haryana, where in 2019, the situation was similar.
