DIRECTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES FOR THE EXAMINATION

1. The examination hall/room shall be opened 30 minutes before the time specified for the commencement of the examination. No candidate who is late by more than 20 minutes shall be admitted to the examination.

2. No candidate shall be allowed to leave his/her seat or the examination hall/room until 10:00
a.m. in 1st session and 2:30 p.m. in second session of the examination. No candidate shall be permitted to go to the toilet during the first and
last 20 minutes of the examination, in each session.

3. A seat marked with a roll number shall be allotted to each candidate. The candidates shall be required to find out and occupy the seats allotted to them by 9:10 a.m.

4. Candidate should not temper seal of the Test Booklets before 9:30 a.m. - Paper – I, 11.00 p.m.- paper - II in 1st session and 2:00 p.m. – Paper
- III in 2nd session.

5. Before beginning to answer the paper, the candidate should write his/her roll number in the space provided in the Test Booklet and OMR Answer sheet and nowhere else. The candidate should read carefully the instructions appearing
on the cover page of the Test Booklet and check that the Test Booklet supplied to him/her is not
defective and if so, may secure another copy from the invigilator in lieu of the first one. The Test Booklet should be checked with reference to page numbers, serial number of the questions, code number and the subject offered by the candidate.

6. If a candidate writes his/her name or puts any special mark at any place in the OMR Answer sheet which may disclose, in any way, the identity of the candidates, He / She will render himself/ herself liable to disqualification, under unfair means rule.

7. Each candidate is required to bring his/her own black / blue ball point pen. No candidate shall be
allowed to use a calculator in the examination hall/room. Electronic devices like Cellular Phone, Satellite Phone, Digital Diary etc. are not allowed in Examination Hall, in any case.

8. The time allotted for each paper includes time required to read instructions appearing on the
Test Booklet and for filling entries at the appropriate places. No extra time will be provided except in case of Blind candidates.

9. Ringing of the bell: Please See on Page No. 4 under Bell Timings.

10. Time of examination: Session Paper For Candidates except Blind Candidates For Blind Candidates 1 st Session Paper-I 9:30 a.m. to
10:45 a.m. 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Paper-II 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. 11:15 a.m. to 01:00 p.m. 2 nd Session Paper-III 2:00 p.m. to 4:30
p.m. 2:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

11. Candidate who does not appear in Paper-I will not be permitted to appear in Paper-II and Paper-III.

12. The candidate shall have to return the Original OMR Answer sheet to the invigilator before leaving the examination hall/room after the examination is over in each session. He / She shall not be allowed to carry Original OMR Answer sheet with him/her outside the examination hall/room in any case.

13. Candidates are allowed to carry the test booklets of Paper I, II & III and carbon less duplicate copy of OMR Answer sheets after the examination is over.

14. Smoking and taking tea/ refreshment etc., by the candidates in the examination hall/room is strictly prohibited.

15. Any candidate found guilty of using unfair means of any nature in the examination hall/room shall be liable to be disqualified for future GSET Examination.

16. No candidate shall be permitted to change the subject after submitting his/her application.

17. Each candidate shall have to produce his/her Hall Ticket on demand by the Invigilator/
Examination Superintendent/Observer.

18. The candidates shall have to abide by the instructions that may announced by the Superintendent/Invigilator in the examination hall/
room.

19. GSET will not issue any separate mark sheets to qualified/not qualified candidate. Also no revaluations of papers are allowed in this examination.

20. If a candidate does not possess 55% (50% for OBC-Non Creamy Layer/SC/ST/PH/VH) marks at
Master Degree Level or possess 55 % (50% for OBC-Non Creamy Layer/SC/ST/PH/VH) marks with any grace awarded by the University or
possesses a Master Degree other than specified in notification for respective subject, He / She is not
eligible to appear in the examination.

21. Candidate should note that result published by GSET will be only provisional. Candidate will be issued certificate only after checking subjects eligibility and other eligibility conditions outlined in notification of SET examination.

22. No TA / DA will be paid to the candidates.

23. One common (combined) Computer OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) answer-sheet for
Paper- I and Paper II and separate Computer OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) answer-sheet for Paper- III will be given to candidates. Candidate has to fill up the answer-sheet as per the
instructions given below: i) Use only Blue / Black Ball point pen to answer. Pencil should not be used. ii) Responses to the items are to be
indicated on the OMR Answer Sheet only under respective sections in Paper – I, II and III. If candidate mark response at any place other than in the circle in the OMR Answer Sheet, it will not be evaluated. iii) Each item has four alternative
responses marked (A), (B), (C) and (D). Candidate has to darken the circle as indicated below on the correct response against each item.
