The Cabinet meeting of the Gujarat Government was held at Gandhinagar today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. 

In which the issue of starting offline classes of Std. 1 to 5 in the state was also discussed.

Still have to wait a bit for school to start


After the cabinet meeting, Education Minister and state government spokesperson Jitu Waghani addressed a press conference. 

He said that parents want class 1 to 5 classrooms to start in Gujarat now but parents still have to wait a while for schools to start.

  • He further said that discussions have been held with the Health Minister. 
  • Children's health is also a concern. 

However, a committee will be formed before starting offline education in schools and a decision will be taken in the near future after seeing Corona's condition.



Plan to continue school 4 days a week

According to Corona's guideline, primary education will start after a long time. 

The education department is currently considering starting primary schools from standard 1 to 5. 

It is learned that these classes will be opened in early December. The plan is to continue school for 4 days in a week. 

If the duration of primary school is also reduced then the education department may decide to increase the number of annual education days.

Education Minister Jitu Waghani said that all the preparations for starting primary school in the state have been completed, after the decision of the committee meeting with experts will decide whether to resume schools or not, 

The decision will be made, said Jitu Waghani. 

With the Diwali vacation currently underway in all the schools in the state, a decision may be taken to start primary schools after Diwali.
