Kiwi Cultivation: Climate and Soil

January is the best month for kiwi cultivation. Such areas are suitable for cultivation of kiwifruit, whose altitude is between 1000 to 2000 meters above sea level. Cool weather is beneficial in kiwi cultivation and hot and strong winds are harmful for kiwi cultivation. The temperature during planting should be up to 15 °C. While the temperature should not exceed 30 degrees in summer season. Kiwi plants need a temperature between 5 and 7 degrees during fruiting.




Deep loamy and mildly acidic soils are suitable for kiwi cultivation. Before planting, be sure to check the pH value of the soil. For Kiwi cultivation, the pH value of the soil should be 5 to 6. Cultivation of kiwi: how to prepare seedlings?

Seedlings can be prepared in three ways in kiwi cultivation.

2. Grafting: One year old branches should be cut by grafting or cutting method to make Kiwi seedlings. It should have 2 to 3 buds. The length of these branches should be between 15 to 20 cm. Now apply 1000 ppm of root growth hormone called IB and bury it in the soil. Remember that the pen should not be moved after burial and should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Kiwi seedlings should be prepared by cutting method in January. Plants prepared by cutting method are ready for planting after one year.

3. Layering method: Select a one-year-old branch of a kiwi plant and remove an inch of its bark from all sides. After this, pack the soil around it well. There should be no air in it. After this, within about a month, the veins will begin to emerge from them. After this, this branch should be cut from the main plant and planted in another place. When removing it from the main plant, keep in mind that the branch should not be cut, and cut just below where the soil was built up.



Kiwi Cultivation: Planting and Irrigation

Planting: In Kiwi cultivation, if you want to get high quality fruit and sell it at a high price in the market, then you should plant high quality and good variety of plants prepared in the nursery.
