The Central Government has issued new and revised guidelines and covid protocols for reopening schools and colleges across the country. 

After extensive discussion, guidelines have been prepared by the Center for reopening of schools, which must be complied with by the States and Union Territories.



Schools were partially opened in 16 states




The Joint Secretary (JS) of the Department of School Education and Literacy said, "Schools need to adhere to the guidelines for health and safety protocols for reopening and learning with social distance." 

Schools have been partially opened in 16 states while educational institutions have been closed in 9 states.



It is mandatory to follow this guideline of the Center


- Ensuring and maintaining proper cleaning and hygiene facilities in the school.


- Keep a distance of at least 6 feet between the students in the seating arrangement


- Adhere to social distance in staff room, office area, assembly hall and other common areas.


- Limited and convenient time for different classes


- All students and staff should arrive at the school wearing face cover / mask and wear it throughout the time.


- Adherence to social distance during PM nutrition (mid day meal) delivery.


- Sanitization of school transport on a regular basis


- Ensuring adequate spacing between beds in hostels.


- Adhere to social distance at all times in the hostel.


- Permission for students wishing to study from home with parental consent
