A big decision was also made for mobile connectivity
A cabinet meeting was organized by the Modi government on Wednesday in which some major decisions were taken, Union Minister Anurag Thakur announced all the decisions at a press conference.
The cabinet has decided that the government will now set up telecom facilities in places where there is still no mobile connectivity. Apart from this, the Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojana will be re-launched to connect rural areas with roads, so that the villages of the country can be connected with roads.
4G facility in seven thousand villages
The central government has decided to set up mobile connectivity in 7,000 villages in Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Odisha, install 4G facilities in these villages and spend Rs 6466 crore on the entire project.
A network of village roads will be set up
Apart from mobile, a big decision has been taken today for road connectivity. The third phase of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana will be started under which roads will be constructed in the villages which do not have roads even today. Roads will be constructed on movable areas like mountains, river-ditches and small pools are also planned.
