Gujarat: 'Mucor mycosis' after corona and now patients at risk of 'gangrene'


Gandhinagar: After the deadly epidemic of black fungus i.e. "mucor mycosis" after Koro, now there is a danger of another serious disease in Gujarat. The disease is called gangrene, and the number of patients is increasing. Gangrene is a disease in which blood clots form in a patient's veins. As a result, every part of the body is forced to be amputated.


Patients who have been treated for corona are now having a similar problem. In Ahmedabad, some cases have come up which have recently recovered from Corona. Now he is complaining of pain in his limbs. Recently, 26-year-old Hirji Luhar, a resident of Bhabhar in Banaskantha district of North Gujarat, had to amputate one of his legs after gangrene.


According to Dr Manish Rawal, a vascular surgeon from Ahmedabad, the patient was infected with corona and recovered about two weeks ago. Later, however, he suddenly developed pain in his legs.


The patient did not count the pain, but was later taken to hospital with numbness in his legs. However it was too late to be admitted to the hospital, as the gangrene had spread to the entire leg. Eventually the patient had to amputate his leg to save his life.


Gangrene is a disease in which blood circulation is stopped when a tumor forms in any part of the body. If this condition persists for a long time, the body becomes deaf and this part has to be separated from the body.

However, the disease precedes coronary heart disease and its risk is mainly higher in diabetic patients. When sugar remains uncontrolled for a long time, gangrene can occur on any part of the body.
