 Detailed Eligibility:
  • Only those candidates who have passed 10+2 Examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized education boards are eligible to apply for this entry. Eligibility condition for calculating PCM % of various state /central boards will be based on marks obtained in Class XII only.
Join Indian Army Recruitment Selection Process:
  • Shortlisting of Applications. Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications based on cut% applied as decided. After shortlisting of candidates, the Centre allotment will be intimated to the candidate via their email. After allotment of Selection Centre, candidates will have to log in to the website and select their SSB dates on a first come first serve basis, through the link forwarded via email.
  • Only shortlisted eligible candidates depending on the cutoff percentage will undergo SSB at Selection Centres, Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bangalore (Karnataka) and Kapurthala (PB) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued by respective Selection Centres on candidate’s registered e-mail ID and SMS only.
  • Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of Directorate General of Recruiting, Integrated Headquarters of MoD (Army) and NO request for changes are entertained in this regard.
  • Candidates will be put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interviews is five days and details of the same are available at official website of Directorate General of Recruiting www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. This will be followed by a medical examination for the candidates who get recommended after Stage II.
  • Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be issued joining letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available.
  • The finally selected candidates will execute all the Bonds/Certificates as prescribed for the Cadets of NDA entry under AI 53/78.

    Detailed Eligibility-Join Indian Army Recruitment:
Educational Qualification: 
    The minimum educational qualification for appointment to Junior Commissioned Officers (Religious Teacher) will be Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
Pandit: 
  • Hindu candidates with Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi or equivalent standard in the regional language concerned.(OR)
  • Those who have passed BA with Sanskrit / Hindi as one of the elective (Main) subjects but have not done Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi.
Granthi:
  • Sikh candidates with Vidwan in Punjabi or equivalent standard in the regional language concerned.(OR)
  • Those who have passed BA with Punjabi as one of the elective (main) subjects but have not done Vidwan in Punjabi.
Pandit (Gorkha) for Gorkha Regiment:
  • Hindu (Gorkha) candidates with Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi or equivalent standard in the Nepali Language.(OR)
  • Those who have passed BA with Sanskrit / Hindi as one of the elective (Main) subjects but have not done Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi.
Padre:
  • Christian candidates who have been ordained priesthood by the appropriate ecclesiastical authority and is still on the approved list of the local Bishop.
Maulvi:
  • Muslim candidates with Maulvi Alim in Arabic, Adib Alim in Urdu or equivalent standard in the regional language concerned.(OR)
  • Those who have passed BA with Arabic/Urdu as one of the elective (Main) subject but who have not done Maulvi Alim in Arabic/Adib Alim in Urdu.
Maulvi (Shia) for Ladakh Scouts:
  • Muslim Shia Ladakh candidates with Maulvi Alim in Arabic, Adib Alim in Urdu or equivalent standard in the regional language concerned.(OR)
  • Those who have passed BA with Arabic/Urdu as one of the elective (Main) subject but who have not done Maulvi Alim in Arabic/Adib Alim in Urdu.
Bodh Monk (Mahayana): Buddhist (Mahayana) candidates who have been ordained Monk/Buddhist Priest, by the Appropriate Authority. The term Appropriate Authority will mean Head Priest of the Monastery where the person has been initiated into priesthood. The head priest should be in possession of Geshe (PhD) of Khanpa or Lopon or Rabjam with proper certificate from Monastery.
Physical Standards:
  • Height: 160Cms (157Cms for Gorkhas & Ladakhi region candidates)
  • Chest: 77Cms
  • Weight: 50kgs (48kgs for Gorkhas)
  • Physical Fitness Test: Candidate should be able to run 1600 Meter in 05 Minutes 45 seconds.
Note: Provisions for extra time for 1.6 Km run in Hilly Terrain Areas:-
  • Between 5000 ft to 9000 ft – Additional 30 secs
  • Between 9000 ft to 12000 ft – Additional 120 secs

Selection Procedure for Join Indian Army Recruitment 2017:
The selection process is based on Written Examination and Interview.
Written Examination:
  • PAPER- I (Maximum Marks – 100). This paper will contain objective type questions on general awareness and will be common to candidates of all religious denominations. Pass marks 40%.
    Note: – Paper-I is a qualifying exam only. Only candidates scoring min 40%
    marks in Paper-I will qualify for appearing in Paper –II. Marks not counted while
    preparation of merit list for appearing in the interview or final selection.
  • PAPER- II (Maximum Marks – 100). This paper will contain objective questions to check the knowledge specific to particular religious denominations to which the candidate belongs.
  • In Paper-II candidates are required to secure a minimum of 40 marks out of
    total 100 marks and come in the merit list to be eligible for appearing in the interview.
    The number of candidates to be called for interview will be approx 2 (two) to 3 (three)
    times the number of vacancies. Only those candidates who come in the merit will be
    interviewed by a board of officers at 1 ASC Trg Centre, Bangalore and 39 GTC,
    Varanasi as applicable.
